World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are an essential aspect of preparing your character. Upgrades increase the base damage as well as the enchantments of items.

They also offer bonuses and enhancements. The Blacksmith can sell them to you.
The upgrade button is located on any item. Each recycled item adds one level to the upgrade gauge.
item upgrades
When a weapon gets upgraded, it will gain a base damage bonus and a scaling factor which affects other stats. Certain upgrade components have cosmetic effects, while others offer additional attributes. These upgrades can be put into armor, weapons trinkets and gathering tools. Most require the equipment to have an available upgrade slot and meet certain specifications. The upgrade component can be removed from a weapon, armor or trinket, however it will not be replaced. (Except for legendary equipment). Upgrade components can be retrieved by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool, or using a high-end salvage tool on the item the item.
In addition to the standard upgrades, a weapon may be upgraded by adding a Calibration Attribute that improves certain stats, such as Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This is done via the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. Based on the level of the weapon it can be done up to four times.
Once the weapon is at maximum upgrade, it can be rebuilt using a variety of different types of upgrades to increase certain stats or add bonuses and effects. Many of these upgrades can be applied at once, and their effects differ based on the rarity of the weapon.
Two Blacksmiths are able to perform these upgrades in the game: Blacksmith Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace and Smithing Master Hewg at the Church of Elleh hub. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons and Somber Smithing Stones to alter the kind of damage a weapon can cause.
In general, it is recommended to upgrade weapon damage first, followed by armor defense, and finally the other secondary stats that are required by your build. It is not unusual to see melee Druids upgrade their weapons prior to upgrading other gear. This helps maximize DPS. This is especially relevant to enchantments that are extremely effective in boosting a weapon's damage and other stats.
Armor
Item upgrades allow players to improve the base stats of certain pieces of armor, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools. These upgrades can also have additional effects such as increased damage or cosmetic enhancements. Item Upgrades are available by crafting, purchasing from NPC vendors, through loot drops, or as rewards from quests.
The upgrade of armor can be done by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currency. In the majority of cases the armor can be upgraded to the next level once an upgrade is applied. This can be done for most types of armor, but some items cannot be upgraded at all (such as the armor that is used as a starter in Great Sky Island).
Most armor upgrades provide only a slight increase in an item's defense base or strength. Certain upgrade components, however, can lead to significant increases in strength or defense. This is especially true when upgrading epic items.
In addition to increasing the defense of an item, certain upgrades also provide specific abilities that can be activated while wearing a piece of armor. These abilities can prove useful in combat. For instance, they can boost attack speed or block. Certain upgrades provide passive effects that can be beneficial, such as the ability to reduce damage while wearing armor or increasing the chance of avoiding an attack.
Upgrades to armor can require several attempts, depending on the type of armor. For example the case of a player wanting to upgrade the strength of a Steelclash armor to Dragonscale The first attempt will result in a brand new piece of Dragonscale with the base defense of 59-67. The second attempt would result in the creation of a Dragonscale armor with the base defense of 67-77.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lets players to upgrade their armor sets to level 4. To do this players must visit the four Great Fairy Fountains found in the game. Each of these locations is home to a powerful fairy who can upgrade one piece of armor for the player.
Contrary to popular opinion, armor in The Division 2 is not in any way useless. The fact of the matter is that certain armors provide significant enhancements to poison, curse, fire or magic damage reduction, which makes them very useful for certain types of builds. Additionally, there are ways to boost armor stats beyond the use of upgradeable armor such as the engineer trait to boost armor penetration or the challenger trait to reduce the weight of the entire armor.
Potion
A potion can be upgraded by placing it in a brewing stand to unlock new effects. The upgrade unlocks a new level of potion effects, and can be repeated for higher levels of potency.
The potions also get the ability to select a custom color that can be chosen by the player via /give. The color affects the effect clouds' area-of-effect as well as the arrows generated. In Bedrock Edition, the custom color of the potion also affects the effects of the particles in the potions.
The water bottle, the mundane and thick potions, as well as awkward potions, now have a distinct texture when they are brewed. In the Creative Inventory, potion healing and potion weakness have been added. Added lingering potions that can be prepared using dragon breath or splash potions and a strong potion that has the status effect of Mining Fatigue (duration 4 hours). Bug Tracker is the place to report issues relating to this patch.
Trinket
A trinket can be an inexpensive, small ornament or piece jewelry. It can be a ring or necklace. Or, it could be a tiny banner used to mark the yard of a boat. It could also refer to a trinket that is gilded on the mast of a ship.
This macabre trinket appears to be influencing the residents of this maze by making them more common. This trinket, at its current level makes all types of mimics more common and gives each floor a Y% chance that it contains an ebony-colored replica. Upgrades to this trinket cost a moderate amount energy.
This enchanted Scepter's magic seems to influence the dungeon by increasing the probability of generating grass and water. At its current level this trinket will make X% of regular floors filled with grass or water, however it won't affect enchantments or the glyphs, cursed weapons, armor, or items that are created to help solve hazard rooms.
Although it appears to be a normal newt's eye, this mysterious object appears to affect your vision in ways other than just reducing your field view. At the moment, this trinket can increase the total health of the drinkers of healing, waterkins, and wells of health by X%. It also grants vision on enemies within the Y tiles. This trinket does not stack with the Heightened Senses.
Skull Cavern is where you will find Trinkets after completing the Mastery Cave. You can find them after defeating Monsters, and in chests and crates. They can't be found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.
When you find a trinket that requires upgrading then place it in the Anvil to upgrade it. This will have an effect on the trinket which is random, either increasing or strengthening its effects. You can reforge a Trinket as many times as you like, but it will always have a different effect than the one you had when you made it.
You can also upgrade your Trinkets at the Alchemy Station by placing them into a Magical Catalyst. This will cost you 6 energy and increase the trinket's power by only a tiny amount.
