Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the best ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon massive drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items effectively.
Upgrades to equipment provide a bonus to the item's base stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components are the things that can make your weapons and armor better. You can get them from destroying enemies, finding them in item spheres, or buying them from karma merchants. They can also be rescued from equipment that contains them, or by utilizing a high-tier salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. In contrast to other items upgrades aren't destroyed when they are removed from an item.
The main purpose of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded but they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to boost the level or experience gained from upgrading existing weapons or gear. They can be made for additional benefits. For instance, a crafted glyph will boost the upgrade chance of its target, whereas a boost upgrade will boost the defense or attack quality of a weapon or armor.
Selecting an upgrade template in the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. This will display the upgrade components that the item can be upgraded. Alternately, upgrade item can utilize the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either scenario the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has its own experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item can gain when upgraded using that component. Organic components, for example have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. It is therefore recommended to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the multiplier of experience for the next rank of weapon or gear, then move to mechanical upgrades.
Each item has a maximum upgrade number that it is possible to receive. The number of upgrades are determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. For instance, the most expensive possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon of tier 10. However, the most popular weapon upgrades are a tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of items that all share the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and the upgrade increases its guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade the set piece or weapon, it will receive an increase of +1 to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, primary stats are boosted even further (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats increases randomly.
Upgrades to a weapon may increase its damage base, which could be crucial for certain builds. However, weapons can't be upgraded to have a greater maximum defense roll than their regular base. It is possible to increase the value of certain set and unique items by upgrading them, but they might not always be better than a Runeword with a high level.
If the item you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus, it can be rerolled once, and then its guarantee will be reset to 0. Rerolling will cost the same amount of power dice as leveling an item up, but the upgraded item will come with additional bonuses. Upgrades can be made by visiting the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will need a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. They can be purchased with Gold at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs also offer special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once, and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
If players have enough tokens for rerolling, they can play rerolling any item they've accumulated during the game. When an upgraded item gets rerolled, it will be exchanged for the level 1 version of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens are available in the shop for a small amount of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The new item upgraded will have the same bonuses of the original one, but its stats will be different also.
Players can change the identification of their equipment, in addition to rerolling it by interacting with an NPC upgrader. The equipment's identification will change from a weapons to armor, or reverse it. Its base stats and requirements will remain the same. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who have the gear in question.

Players can also boost the item level of any equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade components and interacting with the item's upgrader NPC. This will cost a set amount of crests as well as Valorstones dependent on the upgrade track and kind. For weapons, each upgrade will add 5% to its damage.
An upgrade can boost its power, but it will also lower its quality. Therefore, it is important to balance the two. Certain items aren't worth upgrading, while others require upgrades to maximize their potential. A player might want to upgrade their breakpoint armor using an interesting modifier (% block chance or FHR) to discover what it could become.
The main reason people are able to reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they're trying to obtain a particular weapon or character that they aren't able to obtain. The process of obtaining these items can be costly and time-consuming, and the RNG gods aren't always willing to play. The only alternatives are to spend real money or grind for a long time. This is why rerolling is a popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can choose whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I believe it was intended to to add value to rare items, but because the majority of gear drops quickly and can only be upgraded after a certain amount of levels it is likely that you will replace the item before it becomes too old. It's not worth it to level items that have gem sockets because the power of the gem will be greater than the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.
When you click the upgrade button on an item, you'll be presented with a small window displaying the item's upgrade template and the crest and Valorstone costs to increase the level of the item. Weapons and armor will have different costs, with the former typically being more costly. The upgrade template shows the statistics that will be added to the upgraded item and it also lists the current ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the current Ilvl of the item as well as the upgrade templates. In addition the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be decreased by the template's lvl reduction percentage. For example, an upgrade of 8% can reduce the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 8percent.
The item will be upgraded to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry and dodge rating in addition to the base ilvl. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template you can see the amount of damage or defense the item will suffer when it is upgraded. This is listed below the cost as well as the upgrade percentages. In addition to equipment for practice, all items and armor get these same stats when upgraded. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can fetch a much higher price than an unupp'd version. The same applies to other pieces of armor like circlets and Tiaras.
